July 8, 2018 - Sunday was a day of public witness amidst the regular business of the General Convention (#GC79). Deputies and Bishops began the day with a Witness Against Gun Violence organized by Bishops Against Gun Violence. We heard from several speakers including a family that lost their child in the mass shooting in Parkland, Florida and a young student that organized in the days following.
July 8, 2018 - Episcopalians at the 79th General Convention traveled to the Hutto Detention Center Sunday morning to stand vigil, advocating against the separation of families seeking asylum at our border.

It’s Palm Sunday -Passion Sunday. The day on which we celebrate both Jesus’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem and his sham trial and death. It was religious. It was cultural. It was political. The beginning of Holy Week - when we try to enter in -as best we can - to the events surrounding Jesus’s death and resurrection.
