Three-Year-Old Class:

A day in the Three’s class begins with the child coming to class ready to explore independently.  They may begin at the center(s) for the day or in another room that our wonderful facility offers.  There may be one or two centers that the children will visit.  One center is always an art project and the other may involve matching, counting, colors, making something to eat, motor skills, cooperation and lots of fun!  Aides and co-op parents assist the centers.  The children are free to play and explore in the block room building with blocks, climbing or sliding.  Or they may choose to do puzzles, play house, paint on easels, play in the sand table or play dough.  In addition, the children may be enticed to ride a tricycle or scooter in the circle room.  After everything has been cleaned up and put away, we all gather in the circle room to read a book and discuss the day’s activities. Then we all socialize while having a snack with our friends.  The day concludes with music and movement or outdoor play followed by curb-side pick up.  If all that fun is not enough, we now offer an extended day.  This consists of 1.75 additional hours of fun!  This time is spent reading another wonderful story together, working in small groups, having lunch with the teacher and aide, and finally ending with curb-side pick up .  The time shared together includes a variety of activities.  The children spend a great deal of time playing, which builds their social, emotional and intellectual skills.  As a result, they will be prepared to go to the Four’s class.  We work together to encourage your child and make learning fun!
